ARIZONA GOLF

Taking a break in Tucson, AZ last week, gave me an opportunity to play a little golf with my son-in-law, Eric. The weather was great, the sky was blue, the fairways were green, the greens were true, and the roughs were....rough, like in desert.

I love playing golf because it's so relaxing and refreshing. When I'm screaming around on a cart on a golf course with a bag of clubs and a sleeve of Nike balls, I'm able to forget momentarily, the stuff that normally seems to nag me. A round at the front end of last week, and one more at the backend, served as great bookends for our vacation.

MiMi's Cafe Wins Going Away

We recently returned from a vacation in hot and dry Arizona. We spent some time in Sierra Vista and Tucson and had a great time hanging with our kids.

It's always fun to get away at this time of year and spend time in a warmer climate where the sun always seems to shine. Such was the case this past week with temperatures in the 80's and the only clouds in the sky were created by the whispy contrails of the Blue Angels practicing their aeronautical gymnastics during the afternoon hours.

It's also fun to eat at my absolute favorite restaurant - MiMi's Cafe! In fact, during our stay, we managed to squeeze out 3 breakfasts and a dinner at MiMi's. It's the best. The atmosphere is great, the food is always fresh and delivered hot, and the service is generally above average. If I was younger by 2-3 years, I'd be inquiring about a franchise for West Michigan. :)

I suppose we all have a favorite restaurant, but how many of us have one that is a minimum 2 hour commercial flight away?

What's your favorite - outside of the midwest - restaurant?

WONDER YEARS

Our church has a special three week series going, entitled the Wonder Years. We're addressing some difficult topics that may be of interest to a larger audience. The first week the topic was, Suffering. Why does God allow suffering? Thematically, everything was programmed around a 60's theme with multimedia and music.

This week the topic is, What Happens When I Die? Thematically, everything will be programmed around a 70's theme.

The third and final message in the series is, Are All Religions the Same? This will be programmed around an 80's theme.

Good stuff.

What do you wonder about?
