Yup, he's pretty special...but then all five of them are!

WELCOME WILLEM!

Our fifth grandbaby was born yesterday! Willem Steven Deur entered the world without end...around 2:30pm. 7 lbs. and 12 oz. packed on a 20" frame. This boy's a stud like his brother, Aitchie and cousin, Hudson.

PROGNOSTICATING

This is a great time of year in the sports world. NBA basketball is deep into the playoffs, likewise with hocky. Baseball is 6 weeks in, while the WNBA is set to kickoff. Soccer is heating up for the World Cup competition which is looming on the horizon. So much happening...time to make some emergent predictions.

1. Pistons will beat the Heat and the Cav's LeBron will get a huge bonus from the NBA for being the "designated star" even though he single-handedly lost the series to the Pistons. Where were the rest of those Cavs?
2. The Mavericks will beat the Spurs and the Clippers will beat the Suns.
3. The Tigers will win the Central Division title, as manager Jim Leyland smokes 3 packs of Marlboro a day. Gotta love em.
4. Darko will not appear in the playoffs this year. I wonder how he feels about that?
5. Joey Harrington will spend a year with the Dolphins before being released and then fail to catch on with an Arena Football Team. He'll change his first name to Joe and begin making a living by playing the piano.
6. Matt Millen will continue to blame every coach he hires for the Lions' misfortunes.
7. My softball team will win the championship this year.
8. I will be a grampa for the 5th time this week!

BORDERS

It was brought to my attention today that we have guaranteed the integrity of the South Korean with 35,000 active duty U.S. Army soldiers, is it too much to ask to protect our borders with the same level of intensity? Just a thought on borders, even though I prefer Barnes and Noble.

UNCLE

Okay, okay, I give in. Because there has been such an outpouring of grief about me shutting this thing down...I have decided to continue. I may scale back a bit, but it will continue to offer nonsensical and whimsical advice to all. I may even throw in a few rants, for good measure.

SHUT DOWN

The time has come to shut this blog down. I extend my apologies to the 5 regular visitors of this blog...my wife, my daughters, my son, and me. Each of you are disappointed, I'm sure, but you will survive. You gotta learn! It's been a rough ride. I've covered alot of territory and said nothing at all. It fell short in the area of entertaining....it was flat. I had grand hopes of being another Hugh Hewitt or Drudge. It just didn't pan out. I'm going to continue to write my thoughts in journal form with pen and paper.
