PERFECTION

There are a number of people who have a personality strength which is often overlooked or underappreciated. That strength is perfectionism...and I confess that I am a perfectionist. It's difficult for us to be around imperfect people and sometimes it's even difficult for imperfect people to be around us.

I've discovered during the past few weeks that perfectionism can be a good thing or something that is outright disgusting and shameful. How? The Detroit Lions have a unique opportunity to be perfect this season. All they have to do is lose their last game to the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay where they have not won since 1991, and they finish the season a perfect 0-16. No one has done it, and no one has tried to do it, until the Lions came along. They saw a unique opportunity and decided to take it and the 2008 Lions will proudly hold this record until the NFL expands the league to include a few high school teams.

What if the Lions played a game and no one showed up. Would the game still go in the loss column?

This year the Lions have an opportunity to be perfect...perfectly inept, untalented, without a win, and miserable in every way. Go Lions! Go for perfection!

IMAGINE CHRISTMAS..From the Beginning

For the second consecutive year, Imagine Christmas will be introduced in West Michigan - December 19-21 - 5 shows and tickets still available. Dress rehearsal on Thursday evening. This year there are 28 new minutes of creativity in this presentation including the creation and the fall. While aerialist fly across the stage and kites gracefully catch air and soar, the focus shifts to the Christ child in a manger...born to die so that I can be born again and live. This is a great event, first class in everyway. $7 will get you in the door. Make it part of your Christmas tradition and invite your mailperson, grocery checkout employee, county park attendants, donut shop helper, and newspaper delivery person. Everyone will love it.

YOU DID WHAT?

Have you ever done something that was so stupid that you just wanted to kick yourself around the block a couple of times? Have you ever done something that makes absolutely no sense at all and after reacting by hitting your forehead over and over, people began calling you a blockhead?

Well, think of how Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich feels right now! He has been arrested for attempting to peddle President elect Barack Obama's Senate seat for cash and other considerations. Unbelieveable...especially after the republican governor preceding him, was forced out of office for sleaziness!

I want to encourage each of you to thank our men and women in uniform every time you see them. Don't underestimate the sacrifice they and their families are making daily, as they serve our country. When you see a man or woman in uniform, extend your hand, look them in the eye, and sincerly thank them for their service.
