BABY STEPS

During the past year, I've had some great discussions with my friend Brian about stepping out in faith. He contends that God has called you and me to a radical response and lifestyle in His kingdom building endeavors. Further, that specific calling will lead me to a gigantic step of faith, and then additional enormous steps of faith along the journey. Brian, in my humble opinion, is equating radical and life-altering faith to a step that is ginormous and beyond comprehension.

My contention is that God's calling on my life one that requires radical change, but I find that change more often than not, comes in the form of baby steps. A baby step of faith, as I trust God for the situation at work. Another baby step of faith, as I move out of my comfort zone for the first time...just a bit, and experience His power as I serve Him in new ways. Each step of faith is built on the previous one. Over time, my faith grows, my trust level expands, and God is glorified. If we are not faithful in the small things (steps), how and when, can He trust us with far more?

Our world and our lives are transformed as we take baby steps.

Whadayathink?

SUCKED IN

Each October for the last 30+ years I have found myself getting sucked into the media hype that "this is the year the Lions will turn things around." This year was no different. I was encouraged by the optimistic comments of a experienced quarterback, Jon Kitna. I was encouraged by draft expert's reviews of the Lions' number one draft choice. I was encouraged to read reports about the new coach, a disciplinarian, who could and would restore order in the Lions locker room. It was no long going to be a WWF training camp but rather a "Brady Bunch" team that got along with each other and pulled together in a common purpose - winning! It all sounded so reasonable, so compelling, so enticing, so I signed up for another year. Then, the season started and I once again realize I've been sucked in. Sometimes I just feel like a fireplug.

I need help. Can we bring Joey back? What ever happened to Wayne Fontes?

AHHHH...Summer in October

We had an amazing weekend with our grandkids. We enjoyed them at the beach and the water, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I would normally be looking for a new rake or putting things away for the winter, during the first week of October. Each warm day is a bonus.
